YOUR FIRSTFRUIT AND GOD’S GLORY (4)

‭‭Firstfruit offering is giving your first and best to God, declaring that God comes first in your life. It’s not about money, but it’s an expression of your trust in God. It’s true worship because the first and the best is given to God, not the leftovers.
What are the benefits of honouring God with our firstfruits? Let’s consider three reasons today.
Firstly, the firstfruit that is offered to God connects the first to the rest. If the first is sanctified and blessed, then the remaining will be likewise (Rom 11:16). In other words, the rest harvest automatically carries the blessing in the first. Since the first is set apart and blessed, so are the rest. Whatever is set apart by God is defended by Him. It means the rest is insured against any form of loss. When you give God what’s first, He takes care of what is next.
Secondly, giving your firstfruit to God is a mark of honour (1 Sam 2:29-30). When you honour God, He honours you in return, with more than you could ever ask or imagine. He secures His favour over the one He has chosen, so that no one can dishonour him. When God promotes, no one can demote. His honour is final. When Abimelech attempted to dishonour Abraham by taking his wife, God reacted immediately with judgment upon his entire household (Gen 20:3).
Thirdly, when you honour God with your firstfruit, He will cause you to experience explosive blessings and lasting prosperity. Honoring God unlocks overflowing provision, the blessings that chase you! (Deut 28:1-2). When you give God honor, He gives you overflow. "Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best" and promises that "Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over" (Prov 3:9-10 MSG). For your vat to be filled with new wine means you will not only have riches but favour, new opportunities, new seasons, spiritual renewal, and fresh outpouring of grace. Your life will be filled with celebration, joy, and gladness. Instead of being dry or stagnant, it will overflow with God’s goodness.
Friends, give your firstfruit to God, and you will provoke tangible and intangible blessings. Don’t hold anything back from Him, for no one can ever out give Him.

1. Father, as I give the first and the best, please bless the remainder and let it be sufficient, multiplied, and protected from waste or devourers.
2. Father, let my firstfruit unlock new dimensions of favor, such that divine connections, breakthroughs, and opportunities flow into my life, in Jesus’ name.
